Ivan Clayson Freeman

Ivan Freeman 1823 Second Street, So. died Tuesday evening May 29 at the age of 35 in a Boise hospital following an illness of three months. He had been a Nampa resident for 31 years. Mr. Freeman was born at Pocahontas, Iowa, March 14, 1896. He came to Buhl, Ida. at the age of 14 and to Boise in 1919, moving to Nampa in October 1930. He married Fern Ruse at Pocatello, Oct. 1, 1932. He was city water master here for nearly 15 years. A past commander of the Joseph Murray post of the American Legion, he was also a past commander of the local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a veteran of World War I and II and was a member of the Boise Masonic lodge No. 60 and of the Episcopal church. Surviving are his wife, Fern of Nampa; his mother, Mrs. Ida Freeman of Nampa; a son Frank of Nampa; two brothers, Clarence of Palm Springs, Calif., and Frank of McCall. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Walker's Chapel with the Rev. C. A. McKay, rector of the Episcopal church officiating. Full military funeral will be under the direction of the Joseph Murray American Legion post. Interment will be in Kohlerlawn. Pallbearers will be Orin Henry, Harvey Robbins, Yance Burchfield, Kenneth Magee, Dewey Walls, Tom Phelps.
