Mrs. Flansburg's principal activity in music was teaching piano. She was a member of Portland and Vancouver unites of Music teachers National Assn. and National Guild of Piano Teachers. Member and past treasurer of Pro-musica.
Oregonian, Portland, Oregon, January 12, 1984, Page 25: Funeral for Ruth Ryder Flansburg, a Vancouver resident for three years, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Portland. Mrs. Flansburg, a piano teacher and homemaker was born in Athena, Ore. She died Tuesday in a Vancouver hospital at the age of 74. Mrs. Flansburg, was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Vancouver Women's Club, Soroptimist International, the Celtic Bellringer Choir of First Presbyterian Church, all in Vancouver; and the Music Teachers Association of Portland and Vancouver. Survivors include her husband Harvey O. of Vancouver, sister, Grace DeWeese of Bend, Ore.; brothers, Paul Ryder of Half Moon Bay, Calif., and Vernon Ryder of Portland; daughter, Laurelee Binney of Corvallis, Ore.; and two grandchildren.
