Lauren Berkeley Sykes

A check of various newspapers on-line, even Washington State, show that Lauren was a choir director from 1946 to at least 1975 for Pacifica Bible College in Portland, Oregon. His group traveled to various western states to perform.
Find-A-Grave.com shows unknown burial and this write-up: Lauren B. Sykes was a Christian musician working, teaching, and performing in the Portland, Oregon area. His specialty was pipe organ, an instrument which he prized highly, and held considerable disdain for electronic organs. He held the highest professional certificate available from the American Guild of Organists. He also was a well known choral conductor, serving in that capacity for several churches and colleges. He was a long-time faculty member at Pacific Bible Collect, later called Warner Pacific College. He was loved by the many students who sang under his direction. His parents were Nelson J. Sykes (b.1877) and Esther Horton (b.1880). He married Ruth Mary Ryder, also an organist, and they had one child.
