Obituary from Marshfield News Herald, February 17, 1998: Della Hafenbredl. Auburndale---Della A. Hafenbredl, 76, of 4494 County Trunk H., Auburndale, died at 6:20 p.m. February 15, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital hospice home, House of the Dove, where she had resided since Jan. 7. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale. The Rev. Michael Schelele, pastor will officiate. Music will be provided by Sister Hope, organist for St. Mary's Choir and congregational singing. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Brandt, Robert Brandt, Raymond Lizmeier, William Hafenbredl, Donald Hafenbredl and Kevin Hamus. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rembs/Kindinger Chapel in Marshfield and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. A St. Mary's Parish Prayer service will be held at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel. She was born June 10, 1921, in the town of Green Valley, Marathon County to Willima and Daisy (Babcock) Brandt. She was married to Walter M. Hafenbredl on April 22, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburndale. Mrs. Hafenbredl attended Green Valley Country School. Before her married she was employed at Wyerhaeuser Co, Montgomery Ward Co. and Weinbrenner Shoe Factory, all in Marshfield. After their marriage the Hafenbredl farmed in the town of Green Valley. Following the death of her husband she continued to farm until 1991. In 1994 she moved to the town of Milladore where she resided until the present time. She enjoyed gardening and her family, especially caring for her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a 4-H leader for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth (Thomas) Kunze of Abbotsford and their children Tony, Renee and Kyle and Betty (James) Peterson of Auburndale and their children, James and Katherine; he son David (Debra) Hafenbredl of Milladore and their children John, Daniel and Lisa; her brother Kenneth (Veronica) Brandt of Mosinee; sister, Serbella Rutkowski, of San Diego, Calif. and sister-in-law, Edalee Brandt of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was predeceased by her husband on May 7, 1988, her parents and two brothers. "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want."
