Mrs. Dowdey was born on December 29th, 1910 in Jasper, Alabama to the late James Andrew and Alice Murray Kiker. She was a long time member of Pine Grove Holy Church of Christ in Jasper and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. ln addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lester ”Buck” Dowdey; three brothers, Garfield, John Lee, and Douglas Kiker; and four sisters, Esther Powell, Pearl Dowdey, Ola Mae Girard, and infant Jessie Doris Kiker.
