Westrum, 80, a resident of Albert Lea 50 years and a retired employee of Wilson & Co. after 35 years, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday of a heart condition and complications of advanced age. He had been a resident of St. John's Lutheran Home since Jan.. 1962. He died in the home. Born Dec. 14, 1883 in Hayward Township near Glenville, he was a son of the late Lars and Karen Westrum. He lived in the Glenville area until he came to Albert Lea. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Mr. Westrum as married to the former Blanche L. Ferguson. She survives him. She is a resident of St. John's Home. A son, Walter T. Westrum, Rt. 3, also survives him. Two brothers, Ole and Karl, and three sisters, Mrs. Hilda Erickson, Laura Westrum and Mrs. Agnes Freeman, preceded him in death. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. The Rev. Roger Allen will officiate. Bonnerup & Son Funeral Chapel is making arrangements.
