Packman, who for nearly fort years resided on a farm in Fremont township, three and a half miles west of Woolstock, died suddenly Wednesday, afternoon at 4:35 o'clock at the home of his daughter in Elmore, Minn. He had just eaten a light lunch and gone outside for a little stroll when he dropped dead in the yard. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhage. He was eighty-three years of age. Mr. Packman was well known in this city. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Woolstock conducted by the Rev. W. H. Welch of Otho, assisted by REv. Newman of Woolstock. Interment was made here in Graceland cemetery. The deceased was born in 1838 in England and came to this country when a young man. He resided on his farm in Fremont, Township until the death of his wife, fifteen years ago, since which time he had lived with his children. Three daughters and two sons are left to mourn their father's death---Mrs. Elmer McCormick of Elmore, Minn.; Mrs. Ella Parrish of Woolstock; Mrs. Theo Sagar, who resides on the home place, and Arthur and Harry Packman, who reside in South Dakota.
