Terril---Funeral services for Gerald "Fred" Eckley,61, of Terril were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Terril. He died Sept. 22 at the Spencer Hospital. The Rev. Maurice Gunn officiated with burial at Fairview Cemetery near Terril. The Rev. Mr. Gunn sang, accompanied by Mrs. Russel Clark. Pallbearers were Louis Hansen, Wilbur Anderson, Ervil Dotson, Darwin Will, Wayne Glover and Roy Kraft. Mr. Eckley was born April 18, 1912 in Ruthven, a son of Willie and Florence Carlson Eckley. He and Ethel Smith were united in marriage on March 14, 1934, at Ruthven. The Eckleys farmed in the Terril area until 1960. He had been a loss adjuster in the insurance business since that time. Fred was a member of Richloyd Lodge No. 612 AF and AM of Terril, the Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Abu Bekr Shrine, Terril Commercial Club and was treasurer of the board of directors of Sunset Residence in Terril. Survivors include his wife, Ethel; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Geraldine) Zelinsky of Terril and Mrs. Ronald (Marilyn) Barrick of Spencer; a brother, Harvey Eckley of Spencer; two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Michael of Terril and Mrs. Eleanor Christiansen of Eads, Colo.; also five grandchildren. Masonic services were held Monday evening at Warner Chapel in Spencer.
