Willis Brewer Windle

Corpus Christi Caller, Corpus Christi, Texas, December 9, 1981, Page 16 C: W. B. (Bill) Windle, 76, of 1111 Ocean Drive, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital. He had been a resident of Corpus Christi since 1935. He owned and operated Koranado Courts on North Beach until his retirement several years ago. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the Board of Stewards and past president of the Men's Bible Class. He was an honorary member of the Uptown Kiwanis Club and was a former member of the Corpus Christi Kiwanis Club. He organized the first Boy Scout Troop on North Beach and was a former member of the City Park Board and of the City Planning Commission. He attended Missouri University where he played football and baseball and was a later signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates and was with that organization for a short while. He is survived by his wife, Faye, two sons, James Phillip Windle, Corpus Christi, William Richard Windle, Vienna, Virginia, two grandsons, Michael P. Windle, Philippine Islands, Andrew Todd Simer, Scottsdale, Arizona; four granddaughters, Deborah Windle, Vienna, Virginia, Elaine Frances Windle, Vienna, Virginia, Kathleen Susan Simer, Scottsdale, Arizona, Melisa Dawn Windle, Corpus Christi, two great-grandchildren; two nephews Dick Cole, Corpus Christi, Harry Cole, Rockport. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of the First United Methodist Church with Dr. John Gilbert and Vinson Morris, officiating. Burial will be in Seaside Memorial Park. Pall bearers will be Davis, Morris, Ben Cannon, Coke Williamson, Bill Renfrow, Harry Plomarity, and Gerald Smith.
