The Big Horn County Rustler, Basin, Big Horn Co., Wyoming, Friday, March 26, 1915: In the parlors of the Rogers House on Monday afternoon, Miss Ruth Smith was united in marriage to Mr. Elmer Durfey, Justice Conwell officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Smith of Hyattsville and the groom is a son of Mr. W. J. Durfey, while both are well known in the community in which they have resided. They were accompanied to Basin by Mr. and Mrs. Dick Misolelius of Hyattsville.

(Ruth Ann) Durfey, 77, Cascade, a former resident of Great Falls for 35 years died late Wednesday night in a local hospital. She had been a patient three days. Mrs. Durfey was born June 24, 1894 in Hyattville, Wyo., a daughter of Big Horn Basin pioneers, John and Emma Smith. After her marriage in Basin in 1915 the couple ranched at Bonanza, Wyo., until they came to Great Falls in 1922. They moved to Cascade in 1957. Mrs. Durfey was a member of the Royal Neighbors of American and Order of Eastern Star. The widower survives, as does a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Bertha) Obrecht, Cascade; a grandson, and great-grandson, and brothers, John J. Smith Hyattville, and Joe E. Smith, Ten Sleep, Wyo.
