Hosier, 80, of Stonehill Care Center, formerly of 1882 Norland Drive, died at 1:58 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at Stonehill Care Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St., Dubuque, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Elaine was born on Nov. 4, 1931, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, daughter of Frederick and Ethel (Eigenberg) Hosier. She was a lifelong resident of Dubuque. She was the head of the dairy department at Eagle Discount Center, where she worked for 35 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Eagles Club for more than 20 years. In her spare time, Elaine enjoyed playing golf and cards. She had a special love of cats. Elaine also liked to try her luck at the casino and go for long car rides on Sunday afternoons. She and Berdena took many trips over the years, including trips overseas. Surviving are a sister, Judith (Ralph) Wallenhorst, of Platteville, Wis.; a brother, John (Margaret) Hosier, of Dubuque; her friend of 58 years, Berdena Miller, of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters Margaret Stacey and Martha Wilson.
