William Noble Kirkpatrick was born 26 October 1909 in Ripley, Lauderdale County, Tennessee. William is a graduate of the New Mexico Military Academy. On 4 June 1935 William married Lucy Willis, who was born 7 September 1914.

He had lived in El Paso most of his life and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He had been division chief of transportation for Zia Corp., Los Alamos, N. M. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club and had been quite active in the Boy Scouts, Salvation Army and Red Cross work at Los Alamos. He was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute and had attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Having served in World War II, he attained the rank of Lieutenant colonel. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lucy Kirkpatrick; a son, W. Nobel Kirkpatrick, Jr. of El Paso, and four sisters, Mrs. Raymond Dwigans and Mrs. Frank Niehaus, both of El Paso, Mrs. Dudley Jones of Biloxi, Miss., and Mrs. Harvey Wallenger of Tyler, Texas. Arrangements are pending with Harding and Orr Funeral Home.

Noble Kirkpatrick of 3623 Mobile St. will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. C. M. Schindler officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dale Knudsen. Burial will be in Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles W. Boyd, L. A. Miller, George Staten, Trevor McNutt, Truett Evans, R. W. McCarty and Hart Ponder. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. John E. Morrison, Sam Young Sr., Judge R. E. Thomason, Chris P. Fox, Dan F. Rugel, Matilda Orona, Joe Goodell, Ray Watts, Tony Valencia, H. D. Camp. Bob folk Sr., E. E. Sigmon, Robert Banner and Otis Cole Sr. The body will lie in state in the Harding and Orr Funeral home until 12:30 p.m. Friday.
