The Winthrop Sun-Transcript, February 1975: Mrs. Helen Brown. Helen G. Brown, 81, of 21 Pleasant St., passed away at the Winthrop Community Hospital Feb. 7, after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late David and Myrtle (Clason) Curtin. She was the widow of the late William J. Brown. She was born in St. Paul, Minn. and has resided in Winthrop for 65 years. She is survived by a son Joseph W. Brown of Winthrop, 2 sister: Mrs. Albert (Myrtle) Terney of Marblehead and Mrs. Evelyn Cartier of Natick, also 4 grandchildren. The Funeral was held from the OMally Funeral Home 79 Atlantic St., on Monday Feb. 10 followed by a Funeral Mass in the Church of St. John the Evangelist celebrated by her nephew, Rev. Frederick J. Cartier of St. Barbaras Church, Woburn. Interment was in the family lot in Winthrop Cemetery with prayers by the Rev. Frederick Cartier.
