From the South Bend Tribune, South Bend, Indiana, Oct. 12. 1939: Mrs. George Barrett, aged 69, of 719 Lindsey street, died in her home at 7:30 A.M. today after a year's illness. She was born in Des Moines, Ia., Jan. 31, 1870 and came here 35 years ago from Marshall, Mich. She was married in Des Moines in 1894 to George Barrett, who survives her. She leave also five sisters, Mrs. M. E. Ridgeway and Mrs. W. T. Lowe, Des Moines; Mrs. S. A. Trowbridge, Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. T. A. Robertson and Mrs. G. W. Moore, Anchorage, Ky. She was a member of South Bend chapter No. 2, Order of the Eastern Star. Friends will be received in the Willis-Joyce mortuary from noon Friday until 10 a.m. Saturday, when the body will be returned to the residence for funeral services in the residence at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Rev. Robert M. Selle, pastor of St. Paul's Memorial Methodist church, will officiate.
