1880 U. S. Census, DeSmet, Kingsbury, Dakota Territory page 146A: Chaucey L. Clayson, age 31, born Wisconsin, Occupation Dealer Dry Goods, Ella C. Clayson, wife, age 22, born Iowa, Nettie Clayson, age 3, born Minnesota, Horace White, keeper hotel retired, age 67, born New York, father-in-law, Martha R. White, mother-in-law, age 48, born New York. Also Marcus Seim and Lena Seim both born Norway.
1900 U. S. Census, City of Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota, Roll 766, Book 1, page 264 shows Chancey L. Clayson age 52 born July 1847 in Wisconsin with wife Ella, age 43 born August 1856. It states they have been married 24 years, Ella the mother of one child, zero presently living.
On the 1910 U. S. Census of LaFayette Precinct, Yamhill Co., Oregon, Chency [sic] L. Clayson appears with his wife Ella. They have been married 33 years. Ella was the mother of one, zero currently living. Under occupation he lists own income.
The Oregonian, November 11, 1936, page 9: County Dependent Dies--Death of Chauncey A. Clayson, 89, resident of the county farm, was reported to the coroner's office yesterday. Clayson succumbed to injuries suffered in a fall at the farm on November 4.
Same date page 13: Clayson---Graveside services for Chauncey Clayson, late of Troutdale, will be Tuesday at 1 P. M. at the Greenwood cemetery, Holman and Lutz Colonial Mortuary, N. E. 14th and Sandy blvd., in charge.
