Lucy C. Clayson

Edwin R. Horton was in the Civil War from Minnesota. After his death Lucy filed for a pension in Oregon. Edwin originally filed for the pension in 1876.

Sykes, 4224 N. E. 17th ave.; sister of Albert Clayson, Newberg, Or., and Chauncey Clayson, Portland. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 14, at 1:30 P. M. from Pearsons Funeral Church, 301 N. E. Knott st. at Union ave. Friends invited. Interment Rose City cemetery.

From the Oregonian, Portland, Oregon, March 20, 1935, page 20: Mrs. Lucy Horton. Funeral services were held Thursday for Mrs. Lucy Clayson Horton of Portland at the Pearson Funeral Church. Mrs. Horton resided at 4823 Northeast Eighteenth avenue. Services were conducted by Rev. H. G. Edgar of the Vernon Presbyterian church of which Mrs. Horton was a member and Rev. Albert G. Johnson of Hinson Memorial church. Mrs. Horton was born at Beaver Dam, Wis, in 1844, and when a young woman, went to Warsaw, Minn., where she was married to the late Edwin R. Horton, 63 years ago. Thirty-three years ago they moved to Newberg. For the past 27 years, she had been a Portland resident. She is survived by a daughter, Harriet Horton Sykes of Portland.
