On the 1920 U. S. census of Riverton Township, Floyd Co., Iowa, August Bucker [sic] appears with his wife Lula P., and daughters Dorothy M. and Lucile H. The census is very pale and no other information is able to be read.

On the 1930 U. S. Census of Bradford, Chickasaw Co., Iowa, August Becker appears with his wife Lulu and daughters Dorothy and Lucile. August's father-in-law Albert Coler age 80 is also in the household. August is a farmer. Dorothy is a stenographer in a produce company.

(Courier Special Service) Nashua, Ia.--August Becker, 61, retired farmer and life long resident of this community died Sunday night. Following a prayer service at 2 p. m. Wednesday at his home, funeral services will be conducted at the Methodist church at 2:20 with Rev. James Bird officiating and burial in Oak Hill cemetery. He leaves his widow, the former Lulu Coler; one daughter, Mrs. Clark Scoles, Sanborn, Ia.; five brothers, Will of Waterloo; Henry, Charles and Frank, Nashua; Robert, Mason City, and three sisters, Mrs. Ed Meyer, Waterloo, Mrs. Mary Ultch, Waverly, and Mrs. Louis Steiger, Nashua.

Obituary from Nashua Reporter, 28 May 1941: August Becker, 61, Was Called by Death Sunday, Funeral Services Will Be Held This Afternoon for Life-Long Resident. August Becker, 61, a retired farmer and life-long resident of this community, was called by death Sunday following an extended illness. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon (Wednesday) at 2:30 p.m. at the Methodist church. It will be preceded by a prayer at the home at 2 o'clock. The Greenfield Funeral Home will conduct the service, with Rev. James B. Bird officiating. Burial will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers will be George Wedemeyer, Roy Waite, Art. Teft, Kenneth McGregor, Fred Harrison and Lee Hammond. Mr. Becker's obituary follows: August William Becker, the son of Minnie and Wilhelm Becker was born Oct. 30, 1879 in Butler county and died at Nashua on May 25th, 1941, after a lingering illness of almost three years. He grew up and lived all his life in this community, with the exception of five years spent in Minneapolis. On January 20, 1909, he was united in marriage to Lulu Coler of Nashua. To this union were born three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Walsh, who preceded him in death in 1935; Evelyn, who died in infancy; and Mrs. Lucille Scoles of Sanborn, Iowa. Besides his wife and daughter Mrs. Scoles, and one granddaughter, Connie Lee Scoles, he is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Ed Meyer, Waterloo; Mrs. Geo. Ulch, Waverly, and Mrs. Lou Steiger, Nashua, and five brothers: Will, Waterloo; Frank, Henry and Charles of Nashua, and Robert of Mason City. Mr. Becker was preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Lena Ralwing, Sept. 16, 1917; Mrs. Mamie Busching, April 29, 1919; Mrs. Dehlia Thompson, March 11, 1932, and Mrs. Emelia Carson in the spring of 1940.
