One-time M.P. for Blackburn, of Blackburn and of Pool Hall, Nantwich, Cheshire. Educated at Harrow. Played cricket for the Cheshire County Eleven, for Lancashire and for the Gentlemen of England. Elected a Councillor for the Trinity Ward of Blackburn in Nov. 1868. Succeeded his father as M.P. for Blackburn, 30 March, 1869. Sat until the Dissolution of Jan., 1874, then retired. J.P. (Lancs.) Died unmarried.
