Chaplain, Lancashire Fusiliers, 1951, Appointed Bishop Suffragan of Hulme, 1945, Succeeded his uncle, Hugh Phipps Hornby, Esq., (q.v)., as Joint-Patron of the living of St, Michael's-on-Wyre with his younger brother, Edward Windham Hornby, Esq,, (q.v.)., 1944. Also succeeded his uncle to the Heywood estate, which was later sold. Retired to Somerset, 1953.""
