Was a petit juror. built a water mill on Salt Creek, the first in the locality.
He operated a saw mill and grist mill on this property for 6 years.
In 1838 he and Abraham Chappell were overseers of the poor in Hamblen township.
Quite a hunter for big game that abounded at their time. Killed a bear and a panther.
LIved in Hawpatch near Clifford until 1825, then to Hamblen Creek, Brown County
Buried in Taggart Cem., Brown, Indiana
The crowning event of his public service was his election as Representative from Brown County, member of the Indiana State legislature on the Democratic Ticket. He was present and sworn in when the 24th session of the General Assembly convened at Indianapolis 12/2/1838.

He introduced House Bill 95 to regulate the jurisdiction of Justice of the Peace in Brown County. It passed the House and the Senate. Approved by Gov. Wallace 2/10/1840.
