George Hamblen

(23 May 1789 - 4 Aug 1814)

War of 1812. Enlised 8/1/1812 for a period of 5 years in Capt. James H. Campbell's Company, 24th INf., US Army.

Had once had a disease called 'white swelling' causing a lame hip.

Under the command of General Holmes, but likely died on the Niagara which was the 2nd flagship of Commodore Perry on Lake Erie.

This led to the tradition that he was in Perry's battle.
