Jane Galloway & David Galloway, both of Cavan, were married in Millbrook, Ont., on Feb. 7, 1843, by Licence, by the Rev. James Douglass. Witnesses were William Galloway and James Boyd. According to the St. John's Anglican Church records, Jane was born near Cobourg, in Hamilton Twp., Ont., Can. She moved to Canvan Twp., with her family from Cobourg, Ont. when she was a young girl. She had one daughter, Mrs. E Otto Mossejaw Manitoba, Can.

Jane had 2 son's, W.J. Galloway in Pellston Mich. U.S.A. and John living at home, 17 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Edwards of Omeemee. This information came from her obituary in the Lindsay Post, Feb. 16, 1906.

Mrs. Jane Galloway's Obituary from the Lindsay Post, dated Feb. 16, 1906 the following: Mrs. Jane Galloway, Miner's Bay. Mrs. Jane Galloway, wife of Mr. D. Galloway, of Miner's Bay, Lutterworth township, passed away on Monday evening, Feb. 5th. She had been failing for the last twelve months and became helpless, as a child before the end. She passed child before the end. She was born on the 14th day of April, 1820, in the township of Hamilton, near Cobourg, and moved with her father's family when young to Cavan, near Millbrook, where she was married to Mr. Galloway and went north with him.

On Feb. 7th. her body was laid to rest in Kinmount cemetery, in the afternoon at about the same hour that she was married 63 years before. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. S. Otto, Moosejaw; and two sons, W. J. Galloway, Pellston, MI and John at home and 17 grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Edwards, Omemee, Ont. remains to mourn her loss.

The generous hospitality, of Mr. and Mrs. Galloway - frequently tested by those of our citizens who have fished and hunted in that region was never known to fail, and the demise of the warm hearted old lady, will arouse their sympathy for her bereaved life partner.
