Notes
Baptism
St. Mary's Catholic Church is physically located in Hagerstown, but the church records show a "location" - which is Williamsport.I assume the Priest traveled to the communities performing the various rites.
Sponsors - James Duggan, and Mrs L. McCardell
Census
The 1910 census is a screwed up mess, first off there is no Charles Clarke Hughes even listed. Out of no where appears a Joseph A as a son.Now if you do the math Charles is 8 on the 1900 census, therefore he would be 17/18 on the 1910 census, the exact age of this "Joseph A".
Now there is a Joseph A Gettier, Mary C Hughes' husband, on the next line.
One can only assume the census taker made a mistake and listed the name Joseph twice.
Charles Clarke does reappear on the 1920 census.
On another note this Joseph A, aka Charles Clarke his occupation is listed as "none" so he is not a student, nor is he gainfully employed.
