Notes
Birth
The year of birth is based upon St Mary's baptism record which indicated a 1887 birth year, yet the grave marker shows 1888.Baptism
St. Mary's Catholic Church is physically located in Hagerstown, but the church records show a "location" - which is Williamsport.I assume the Priest traveled to the communities performing the various rites.
Sponsors - Joanna Duggan & Maria Duggan
Census
The 1900 census shows James H "at school", he is 13 years old.Military
This comes from James WW I draft registration, on line 11 it he listed he served in the Maryland National Guard for 6 years. Now the beginning date is somewhat of a conjecture on my part - but it is based upon the 5' which indicates to me 1905.

The 1905 Baltimore City Dir shows Hughes Harry J at 424 E Lafayette St as a printer. This is one of the first references to the alias James Henry Hughes became known as J Harry Hughes.
