Thomas's address on his marriage certificate is 158 Belsize Road, Hampstead, London, which was the home of his sister Mary and her husband, Archibald Dunn. Thomas's occupation on the certificate is 'Merchant'. Many years later the marriage certificate of his son Philip would tell us that (the late) Thomas had been a 'Company Manager'.

Thomas and his wife, Agnes, lived at a number of addresses in west London: in 1871 they were at 5 Oxford Road, Willesden; in 1881 it was 74 Finborough Road, Kensington; in 1891 they were living at 16 Stemdale Road, Hammersmith; and in 1899 and 1901 they were at 44 Baron's Court Road, Fulham.
