Eddie served in the U.S. military, attaining the rank of sergeant. There is a record of the enlistment into the U.S. Army as a private, on 23 October 1942, of a Patrick E. Monahan, who is likely to have been our Patrick above. According to the enlistment papers, Patrick was living in the Bronx, was married, was 5' 11" tall, weighed 213 lbs and had one year of college education.
