Individual Details

Patrick ran Cullens Hotel in Frenchpark from 1876 for about 35 years until his death. It is not known whether the hotel had already been run by the Cullen family when he took it over. Business was not good in the years leading up to Patrick's death and shortly after he died, his widow, Katie (his second wife), and their young family were evicted by their landlord because they were unable to pay the rent. Katie and her family later eventually moved to Mohill, Co. Leitrim. The hotel building later housed the Frenchpark Post Office.

I have been told by a family source that Patrick died "around 1912" but I have seen on a public family tree on the Ancestry website that Patrick died on 18 November 1918 (in Frenchpark). I myself have not managed to find any official record of Patrick's death.
