Anne HUDSON
(Abt 1794 - 15 Jul 1846)
We know Anne was the fourth daughter of William and Honora. It appears she was living in Tralee in 1830 as a piece in the Kerry Evening Post of 23 June tells of that year tells us that an Anne Hudson was secretary of a "Soup Shop" committee run by the Tralee Relief Committee to help the poor of the town. After her marriage (in 1833), she and her husband, John, lived at 37 Warren Place, Cork. We do not know if they had any children but I think it unlikely as I can find no evidence of any, and Anne was about 39 years of age when she married.
From The Irish Examiner of 22 July 1846 we know that following Anne's death John put the Warren Place property on the market:
"AUCTION At 37, WARREN'S PLACE, on MONDAY NEXT, 27th Inst., the Residence of John HICKSON, Esq., of all the HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, China, Glass, Eight Day Clock, Culinary Articles, &c. Sale at 12 o'clock.
MR. EVANS has been favoured with instructions to submit to UNRESERVED SALE, on the above day, the entire of the HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, comprising Economy, Loo, Card and Ladies' Work Tables, Drawing Room and Parlour Chairs; Sofas and Loungers, Prime Feather Beds, Bedsteads and Hangings, Window Curtains, Carpets and Rugs, Fenders and Fire Irons, Eight-day Clock. The Bedrooms are well supplied with everything useful and of the best description; China, Glass, Culinary Articles, &c. &c., the entire of which will be sold without the least reserve. Terms, Cash. R. B. EVANS, Auctioneer. N.B. The remainder of the Lease of the House will be Let at the same time and place."
