John Spring HICKSON
(Abt 1806 - 28 Aug 1858)
At the time of his first marriage in 1833 John was living on Staughtons Row, Tralee, Co. Kerry.
He and his second wife, Emma, appear in the New York census of 1855. He is described in an obituary in the Kerry Evening Post of 1 September 1858 as "John S. Hickson, Esq., of New York, and formerly a merchant in extensive business in this town [presumably Tralee]. The obituary also tells us he died "at the residence of his sisters, Green Lawn, near Tralee, aged, 52".
All the Hicksons in Tralee appear to have been part of the same family so it is likely John was related to Sarah Hickson, wife of his brother-in-law Edward Hudson.
