There is a baptism record for a John Logan, born 1857 to Thomas Logan and Winifred Meehan (sponsors were Joseph Logan and Margaret Dolan). However, Thomas and Winifred already had a son named John (born 1849) who married Anne McPartland in 1877. One could suggest that perhaps the John born in 1849 died as a child and it was the other John who married Anne. But according to the marriage certificate of John and Anne, John was aged 27 which ties in with being born in 1849. If it had been the younger John who married Anne, he would have been only 19 at the time which would have been very unusual. Perhaps both Johns went by both their first and middle names. It is not known what the middle name of the younger John was.
