Individual Details

Peter LOGAN

(Aug 1854 - Aft Jun 1937)

Sponsors at Peter's baptism were Charles Meehan and Lucy Meehan. According to his marriage certificate (1886), Peter was a member of the RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary) and lived on Abbey Lane (presumably in Boyle or Cootehall). Witnesses to the marriage were James O'Hara and Ellie Duignan. A 1911 census record was located for a Peter Logan, a 54-year-old Roscommon-born RIC pensioner who was living with his wife, 42-year-old Longford-born Kate Agnes, on Carrick St., Kells, Co. Meath. Although our Peter's wife is believed to have been born in Co. Roscommon, it is likely that the Peter from the census is our Peter above. According to the census, Peter and Kate had been married for 24 years and had no children.
