Individual Details
Thomas LOGAN
( - Aft 14 Aug 1873)
It is thought that Thomas may have farmed in the townland of Derrygirraun in Cootehall (Ardcarne). There is an entry in Griffith's Valuation for a Thomas Logan in Derrygirraun, and neighbours of his included Meehans who were probably related to Thomas's wife, Winifred Meehan. Another neighbour was Laurence O'Hara who would marry Ellen Meehan who it is thought might have been a close relative of Winifred.
Based on the list of sponsors at the baptisms of his children, Thomas possibly had brothers named Michael and Joseph.
According to the marriage record of his son, John, Thomas was a "surveyor" rather than a farmer.
