1875- lived on North Beaver Street in Wooster Ohio (see son August obit) also lived there at time of his death

He fought in war with Mexico- stayed on Wayne Co. Ohio

He came to the United States in 1833, arriving at the Port of Baltimore with his parents and siblings. They first settled in York PA. Shortly after Gotlieb went to Texas to fight in the struggle for independence. In 1840 he came to Wooster, where he was in the butchering business all of his life. He was a Council man and for fifteen years Captain of Wooster Fire Co. No. 3. He was a member of Morning Star Lodge No. 44, Knights of Pythias and Wooster Lodge No. 42, I.O.O.F.
