Fulton Co Footprints 8:5(1988) pg 89 reprints form Fulton County Tribune 1910, abstracted by Jean Collier, 303 Lenappe Drive Columbus OH 43214: Sept 23--Conrad Gasche was born july 5, 1825 in Wetzler, Germany in the Kingdom of Prussia, and died September 7, 1910. He was the son of Dr. Carl Gasche whose ancestors were French. He came to this country at age 7 with his parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. They lived first in PA and then in Holmes County. He learned the carpenter trade from a brother, Charles, in Wooster , OH. In 1846 he participated in the War with Mexico. He married Annetta Hinder in 1852 and was the father of 2 sons and 2 daughters: Mary L, Edward W., Albert J. and Matilda C. Gasche. The family came to Fulton County in 1857.
