Mary Jane Moon was the daughter of Robert Moon and Mary Jane Pacy.2 She married Walter Knight Shirley, 11th Earl Ferrers, son of Reverend Walter Waddington Shirley and Philippa Frances Emilia Knight, on 9 July 1890.1 She died on 10 January 1944.1
From 9 July 1890, her married name became Shirley. After her marriage, Mary Jane Moon was styled as Countess Ferrers on 26 July 1912.
