Giles de Briouze was the son of William de Briouze and Maud de Saint Valéry.1 He died on 13 November 1215 at Gloucestershire, England.1 He was buried at Gloucester Cathedral, Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England.1
He held the office of Bishop of Hereford between 1200 and 1215.1 He succeeded to the title of Lord Abergavenny [Feudal] on 10 August 1211.1 On 21 October 1215 the King confirmed his seizure of his father's Welsh possessions, on payment of a fine.1
