Individual Details
Bridget Carney
(Abt 1824 - 23 Apr 1899)
In the 1870 census, the head of household is Margaret and her age was 50. Is "Margaret" Bridget's middle name and the enumerator got her age wrong? Is the age right and this Margaret is William's unmarried sister or perhaps a sister-in-law? I think it more likely that her name was Bridget Margaret Carney McKillip.
In the 1880 census, Bridget is listed as a widow head-of-household. Living with her are her three sons John, William and Thomas as well as two boarders, William English and Mary Duffy. Presumably this is the same Mary Duffy with whom Thomas was enumerated in the 1870 Kenosha County, WI census.
Bridget is listed as 50 years old though she should have been around 56. Perhaps it is just a mistake by the enumerator.
