Burial
Obituary: Elmer John Sarver, 90, died Friday, March 12, 2010, in Jennings, Louisiana. Funeral services for Elmer J. Sarver, 90, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 in the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley, LA. Burial will be in the Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Jim Hoffman will conduct the funeral services. Visitation may be observed from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday and 8:00 a.m. Monday until service time. Mr. Sarver died Friday March 12, 2010 in a Jennings Hospital. He was born in Vermilion Parish and lived most of his life in the Crowley and Indian Bayou Areas. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and served his country during WWII. Mr. Sarver was a longtime School Bus Driver in Acadia Parish and he was a retired farmer. He is survived by a son Danny (Jane) Sarver of Saucier, MS; 2 daughters Bonnie (Asa) Hoffpauir of Westlake and Brenda (Dwight) Sarver of Indian Bayou; a brother Douglas (Katie) Sarver of Bunkie; 3 sisters Anna Mae Sarver and Irick Bertrand of Ebenezer and Betty (Dale) Fontenot of Indian Bayou; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents John Lester and Beulah Spell Sarver; his wife, a daughter Shirley Henry; a sister Audrey Romero and two brothers Ardie and Horace Sarver.
