Obituary: Indian Bayou - Funeral services will be held at Indian Bayou United Methodist Church, Monday, November 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. for Velma Jean "Mimi" Hoffpauir Stutes, 77, who died Friday, November 16, 2012 at her residence in Indian Bayou, LA. Interment will be in the Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery, Indian Bayou, LA. Surviving are two sons, Randy Stutes of Indian Bayou, Darwin "Bub" Stutes and wife Denise of Indian Bayou, two daughters, Darlene Bares and husband Tommy of Erath, Monica Semmes and husband Jeff of Indian Bayou, five grandchildren, Shelly Wills, Chad Stutes, Aaron Hoffpauir, Alyssa Hoffpauir, Jonathan Thompson, four great grandchildren, Justin d'Augereau, Avery Stutes, Silas Romero, Hayden Stutes, another great grandchild on the way Kainen Romero, five sisters, Nettie "Ora" H. Foreman, Buel H. Hyfield, Irene H. Foreman, Annette H. LeBeouf, Lorraine H. LeBouef, one brother, Howard J. Hoffpauir. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Lee Stutes, parents, Avery Hoffpauir and Oraphine Smith Hoffpauir, one brother, Lloyd Hoffpauir, one sister, Zora Hoffpauir. She was born Thursday, January 31, 1935 in Rayne, LA, daughter of the late Avery Hoffpauir and the late Oraphine Smith Hoffpauir. She was a member of the Vermilion Parish Homemakers Club, Indian Bayou Fire Department, Antique Tractor Club, Vermilion Parish Relay for Life, Indian Bayou United Methodist Church, a leader in the Indain Bayou Community and "Mimi" to everyone. Friends will be received Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home in Rayne, LA and Monday, November 19, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Indian Bayou United Methodist Church in Indian Bayou, LA.
