Death
Obituary: JOYCE GLENN HOFFPAUIR, 80, devoted mother and loving grandmother passed away on May 7th, 2008 following a seven year battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons. She was born in Houston, Texas on July 22nd, 1927 to Alma and Myrick Glenn. She was preceded in death by both parents, two sisters, husband Arch Hoffpauir and daughter Dana Hoffpauir Bishop. She is survived by her son Kirk Hoffpauir and wife Donita, daughter Susan Kachler and husband Larry, and daughter Linda Swords. She has five grandchildren, Kelly Kachler Adams and husband Brian, Kourtney Kachler Cyrus and husband Andy, and Kelsey, Kyle and Kara Hoffpauir. She has one great-grandson, Bennett Kachler Adams. She graduated from Lamar High School and went on to attend SMU and the University of Houston. She was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, and active member of the Sherwood Oaks Garden Club for many years and enjoyed water aerobics, cooking and especially baking. We will always remember her oatmeal cookies and fudge iced cupcakes. Her greatest joy came from being with her family and babysitting her grandchildren. Her unconditional love, generous spirit and contagious laughter will remain in our hearts forever. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday May 11, 2008 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway. A memorial service celebrating Joyce's life will be 11:00 AM Monday May 12, 2008 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church located at 11140 Greenbay. For those who desire, donations may be made to Chapelwood United Methodist foundation, 11140 Greenbay, Houston, Texas 77024. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the caregivers Ronda Scott, Cheryl Mills and Gloria Scruggs for the loving care they gave Joyce the last fifteen months of her life.
