Burial

Obituary: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2011, at St. Michael's Catholic Church for Kenneth Stephens Hoffpauir, 67, who died March 29, 2011 in Crowley. Fr. Jarrod Suire will be officiating. The family requests visiting hours to be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Mr. Hoffpauir was born July 14, 1943 in Andrew, LA. He was a graduate of Indian Bayou High School, University of Southwest Louisiana and received his masters degree from McNeese State University. He went on to work for the Crowley Daily Signal as the sports editor and later city editor. In the early 70's he began teaching at Crowley Jr. High School, then served as a guidance counselor at Armstrong Elementary and 5th ward schools. He was then promoted to principal at Egan Elementary and was principal at South Crowley Elementary when he retired. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Zulah Underwood Hoffpauir; one brother, Elvis Lynn Hoffpauir of Royersford, PA; and one sister, Mary Jo Hoffpauir of Crowley. Mr. Hoffpauir was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Hazel H. Hoffpauir; one brother, Jerold Reed Hoffpauir; and one sister, Hazel Dean Hoffpauir
