Obituary: Elvis Lynn Hoffpauir, of Royersford, PA, passed away early Saturday morning, November 19, 2022, from heart and lung failure. He is survived by Vanessa Hoffpauir, his wife of 48 years. Elvis was born in Andrew, Louisiana to Howard Merle and Hazel Hoffpauir, in January 1952. He was the youngest of five children. He had two brothers - Gerald and Kenneth and two sisters - Mary Jo and Hazel Dean. Elvis started school in Indian Bayou, then graduated from Crowley High School after the family moved to Crowley in the 1960s. Elvis attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature (major) and Psychology (minor). After graduation, Elvis enlisted in the United States Air Force in June, 1973. He was trained in audio surveillance and then stationed to RAF Chicksands, a USAF Security Base outside of Shefford, England. It was there that he married Vanessa at the Base Chapel on October 29, 1974. Both were honorably discharged in March, 1977. Elvis moved back to his hometown and became a reporter for the Crowley Post-Signal. He was then promoted to Editor of the Abbeville Meridonal, where he worked for two years. In 1979, he and his wife relocated to her home area. He was hired by National Automotive Radiator Service Assn., an aftermarket cooling systems information group, and then helped to form a sister organization Mobile Air Conditioning Society Worldwide in 1980. Elvis to work for MACS, eventually becoming CEO in 2002 and continued in that position until he retired in January 2022. He was honored with several writing awards and with MACS own Pioneer Award in 2020. Elvis was stricken with lung cancer in early 2021 and had battled with recurring lung and heart issues for the past two years. His wife is requesting NO flowers or cards.
