Winona Briles

In 1940 she attended the funeral of her uncle, Enoch Elwood Briles, in Skiatook, Oklahoma.
The list of attendees at the August 4, 1974 Briles Reunion at the Legion Hall in Italy, Texas, lists both Winona and her husband Frank as attendees and states that they did not have any children. It also gives their address as Garland, Texas.
In July 20, 1982, she wrote a letter to Sara Briles Moriarty reporting on the Briles Family Reunion that took place in Italy, Texas, earlier that month. Thus, she was still alive in July 1982. She also says in that letter that she was 72 years old when the reunion took place, which, depending upon the month of her birth, agrees with the birth year given for her above.

In a letter from Winona to Sara dated Decmeber 1983, Winona says that, as of that date, her husband was still living. She also says that she was going to be 74 on December 27, 1983, which yields her birth date: December 27, 1909!
The Social Security Death Index agrees that Winona was born on December 27, 1909. Her SS Card # was 454-38-6792; it was issued in Texas.
