Death
Tiras Clinton Pierce, 88, a resident of Lines St., died Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice House. He was born on August 19, 1923 in Davidson County to Ernest LaFayette Pierce and Lilly Jackson Pierce. He retired from Thomas Built Buses and was a US Army veteran having served during WWII. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Archdale, where he was a former Sunday School teacher and deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Davis Pierce on September 15, 2006, whom he married July 17, 1944; son, Gary Dean Pierce; sisters, Glena Taylor and Eva Hill; and brothers, Everett, Warren, and Ralph Pierce. Surviving is his daughter, Gwen Wilmoth of Thomasville; son, Terry (Doc) Pierce and wife Betty of Thomasville; brothers, Lacy Pierce of Asheboro, Elwood Pierce and wife Josephine of Albemarle, and Troy Pierce and wife Doris of Lexington; grandchildren, Tracy Pierce and wife Paula of Thomasville, Mark Pierce and wife Tammy of High Point, Cynthia Guinn of Wallburg, and Kevin Hayes of Thomasville; great-grandchildren, Jordan Smith of Thomasville, Chase Pierce of Lexington, Dillon and Chasity Pierce, both of High Point. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Amos Mashburn officiating. Interment with military rites provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.Endnotes
