Mary "Smith" Fiske

See "Genealogies of the families and descendants of the early settlers of Watertown, MA" by Dr. Henry Bond, dated 1860, page 32 and 34, found at the Los Angeles Public Liabrary, genealogical section 974.44 D2b 1978, for dates and children of Mary Fiske and Eleazer Bigelow. Mary probably was the daughter of William and Hannah (Smith) Fiske of Watertown. The marriage was recorded in the Weston town records, with this difference, that it is there "Mary Smith". Perhaps she resided with, or was adopted by some of her mother's relations in Weston, and was there known as a Smith. She was admitted, 1723-4, from the Watertown to the Weston church, as "Mary Fiske, alias Smith". On page 210 of this study, Mary is not shown as a daughter of William Fiske and Hannah Smith.

In the "Fiske and Fisk Family" by Frederick Clifton Pierce dated 1896 (via Heritage Quest), the daughter, Mary, of William Fiske and Hannah Smith of Watertown, MA, was born 16 Jan 1698 and died 13 Dec. 1702, at the age of four. This Mary died too young to be married.

LDS Ancestral File shows last name as "Fiske". Per page IV of Appendix of "Titus Family in America" by Dorothy M. Titus dated July 1943: Eleazer Titus and Mary Fiske had 7 children.

1707 birth is per Ancestry.com which also shows her name as Fiske. "Genealogies of the Families and Descendants of the Early Settlers of Watertown, MA" by Henry Bond, MD shows her father, mother and does not show her in the list of children on page 210 but does show her on page 34 as wife of Eliezer Bigelow. LDS film 844949 at the LAFHC, item #2, page 22 "Watertown, MA: Vital Records, 1630-1825" Vol. 2, published by the Historical Society of Watertown shows Mary, daughter of William and Hannah Fiske, born 13 Dec. 1702.
