Per material from Floyd Bresee, "The Bresee Family" author unknown, Nicholas and wife Charity Hopkins moved to Sutton Quebec, Canada while his brother Peter with wife Sarah in 1802 moved to Brockville, Ontario, Canada. The former two were the ancestors of the Canadian Bresees.

E-mail from Cathy Jenks (globalfish@bc.sympatico.ca) establishes death dates and burial location. Nicholas Bresee and wife Charity Hopkins left Pittsford, VT in 1802 for Sutton, Quebec. Her family notes show Bresee ancestors were French Huguenots who married Dutch women and emigrated to New Amsterdam.
