The marriage and marriage year of 1749 needs to be proven because the first child, Phebe, was born in 1745.In the "Pane-Joyce Genealogy" by Dave Pane-Joyce updated Mar. 2008 found in Google, Rev. John Grant married Phebe Andrews and he was a Presbyterian minister at Westfield, NJ. They were the parents of Phebe Grant who was born 27 Apr 1745. No marriage date shown.
Per LDS Family Search: Phebe Andrews married John Grant about 1750 in New Haven, CT (year ?).
In "A genealogical study of the Grant family, descended from Matthew Grant of Windsor, CT, 1635" by D. Williams Patterson dated 1892, page 9, found at Heritage Quest Online: Elijah Grant, son of Josiah Grant and Sarah Cook, married Mary Andrews in New Haven. Elijah's brother, John, also married a Phebe Andrews (which may not be correct) in New Haven. They may be sisters.
