See "The English Ancestry of Leonard Harriman of Rowley, MA and John Harriman of New Haven, CT" by Lois Ware Thurston found in the NEHGS Register of 1996, Vol. 150, pages 40 and 43: John, son of Leonard and Margaret Harriman, born 16 May 1650 at Rowley, MA; killed at Muddy Brook ["Bloody Brook" after the massacre] at Pocumtuck [later Deerfield] 18 Sept 1675 in King Philip's War, married before Oct. 1674 when he and his [unnamed] wife were convicted at the Hampton Quarterly Court for fornication; "confessing, [they] were ordered to be whipped, he twenty stripes and she fifteen, or pay a fine."
