1911 death is per copy of the death certificate showing him as 83 (born1828) living at 55 Guthrie St., Aston Manor. He was formerly a watchmaker. Present at the death was a John Brown, son living at 48 Wills St., Aston Manor (this is a son I am not aware of).
1901 census shows him as age 72 (born 1829) a watch maker and widower living with his children, son Edward age 39 single, son Frank age 33 single, and daughter Susanna age 30 and single. They were living at 55 Guthrie St., Aston Manor. All were born in Coventry except Susanna who was born in Birmingham.
1894 death certificate for his wife, Elizabeth, shows he was alive at the time.
1891 census shows him as age 62 (born 1829), employed as a watch maker, born in Coventry, living with his wife Elizabeth age 61 at 96 Church St., Aston Manor, St. Silas parish, Warwick Co. with son Edward age 29, son Frank age 26, and daughter Susan E. age 20. Son Albert is not in the home and he is still single. The other childern are married.
1883 marriage certificate for his son, Arthur Brown and Eliza Stagg, showed him as a watch maker.
1881 census shows him as age 52 (born 1829), as a "Finisher Watch", living at 28 Wheeler St. 7 Court 4 House, Birmingham and confirms his place of birth. He was living with his wife, Elizabeth age 51, and his children Arthur age 22, Edward age 19, Albert age 16, Frank age 13 and Susanna age 10.
1871 census for Birmingham's St. George dist. shows him age 42 (born 1829) a watch finisher living with his wife Elizabeth age 41, sons Benjamin age 17, John age 14, Arthur age 12, Edward age 9, Albert age 6, Frank age 3 and daughter Susanna age 3 months. All were born in Coventry except Susanna who was born in Birmingham. 1871 christening of his daughter, Susanna Elizabeth, per the church records, showed the family was living on Wheeler St., Birmingham.
1868-1870 the family moved from Coventry to Birmingham based on the christening location for his last two children. The 1871 census shows all childern were born in Coventry and only Susanna was born in Birmingham in December 1870.
1861 census for Coventry's St. John Parish shows him age 32 (born 1829) a watch maker living with his wife Elizabeth age 31, sons Benjamin age 7 and John age 4 and Arthur agte 2.
