Birth
Adam Himes gave his age as 53 years in his deposition in August, 1898 that is included in the pension file of Jacob Himes' widow. This would make his birth date about 1844 to 1845. The 1900 census gives his birth date as May 1845. This is consistent with his deposition and is probably the most accurate birth date for him. He was probably born on 15 May.Birth
His birth date on his death certificate was 15 September 1846 but his age was 66 years, 9 months, and 11 days. If his age is correct, his birth date should be 15 May 1846.Endnotes
